Discuss Math & Other Subjects Online [Exclusively For University of Toronto Students]

Online education is a new and a unique concept which is slowly gaining popularity. More or less the reason for its growth has been lack of availability of time or the busy schedule of teachers and professors.

Whenever we (the students) have a doubt, our mentor is available only for a few hours between weekdays (‘Kindly contact between 2:00 PM to 4:00 pm, from Mondays to Fridays’, this is the most common answer most students get when they go to discuss a doubt). A group of students from University of Toronto faced a similar problem and decided to come up with a concept which is not only unique and user-friendly but also extremely helpful. The students have worked really hard to create an online tool which helps students (of University of Toronto) to assemble at a single place and discuss their doubts with respective mentors. Students have to register first with their University of Toronto e-mail ID. They can create a username and a password, and an activation/confirmation link is sent to your e-mail ID. After clicking on the link and verifying your e-mail account, registration process completes and students are ready to discuss their doubts and get help from experts.

To communicate directly with your mentor, students are provided with a virtual whiteboard which the other user (that is, your expert) can see in real time. So, the communication becomes easy in a certain way. Besides doubts, answers and questions, students can do things for fun too (We could not explore much as we are not students of the University, however, there is an introductory video which helps quite a deal to know about the web site and its other content).

It’s great to see such young minds working at such an amazing and simple concept. Being a student myself, I would be extremely fortunate to have such a service started in my University.
