Given the number and depth of the image and photo editing tools Pixlr has to offer, it is surprising to me that we continually resort to the same, worn-out and tired solutions. Its high time that you break the shackles binding your mind from using some stupendous photo editing services brought to you by Pixlr.

It has two applications in its suite, one is called Pixlr Editor and the other is Pixlr Express. They are built in Flash and you need to have a Flash plug in (get flash) to get it to work.

The pixlr services are widely used by both the  professionals for fixing images for news sites and blogs etc as well as by the non-professionals who are out there to have some fun i.e. the users that have basic editing needs like editing web images to be posted on social networking sites like Facebook, Myspace Bebo and image sites like Flickr, Fotolog, Photobucket etc.

You will also be able to use an application called Pixlr Grabber that will enable you to simply right click any image on the web and just edit them right away. Or you can always grab an entire web page and edit it? That’s what this firefox add-on called pixlr grabber will do for you.

Pixlr  Add-ons :

  • the applications are being constantly developed to be more than they are right now.
  • you can request any specific feature desired by you from info@pixlr.com
  • If you use Flash 10 then there is no need for upload and the image is opened directly in your browser, thus taking care of your privacy.
  • Compare the applications from pixlr to any other flash based image editor and you will notice that they start up in less than 2 seconds.
  • It’s available for free
