Speedcine – Find Feature Length Movies On Your Computer

SpeedCine [Speed-Sinny] is a web service that makes it easy to find legal feature-length movies on your computer. It basically has collection of information on films that are available from different sources and have been put together in one convenient place. In time it will be comprehensive database of all the feature films that are available for downloading and streaming on the web.

This service only indexes feature-length films–not TV Shows or shorts. It defines “feature-length” as being at least 60 minutes long. This service don’t index training videos, travelogues, or most shorts collections, but do include many made-for-TV and straight-to-video movies. They do curate the collection to a certain extent. Not every film is included in the A-Z index; some are only accessible through the Search Box.

Currently it has 13,000 films in the database, although not all of them are visible on the site. They plan to add one or two downloading or streaming sites every month, and expect to have over 25,000 titles in the database by the end of 2009. This service don’t provide you with cast & credits, synopses, etc. There numerous places where you can find information like that on the web. They want to offer a service that isn’t available anywhere else and keep it as simple as possible.

They have affiliate marketing arrangements with online websites. They get commissions when people click from SpeedCine and rent or buy from one of the companies that have accepted us as an affiliates. They will also do a limited amount of advertising. Also they rely on feeds from the websites themselves that give us weekly, or even daily updates.

This service doesn’t has features like TV VOD listings, DVDs, movies playing in theatres. Nothing works in Sweden as many of the sites they index, like iTunes, Amazon, Hulu and Crackle, are currently U.S. only. But, it is their ultimate intention to index every legal movie site in the world.
